SuperBrowser Privacy Policy

This policy describes the SuperBrowser Android app published on Google Play and the SuperBrowser iPhone app published on the App Store. Where the two differ, the difference is stated. It separates information that stays on your device from information the app sends.

2. Information that stays on your device

The following are stored on the device and are not uploaded as a copy of your browsing history:

AI Search is not added to this local browsing history. The app shows that the question goes to Perplexity before you submit it.

3. Information the app sends to our services

You can browse without an account. The app sends the information below to services we operate. Search words are not part of these usage events.

Opening an AI Search result can include the domain www.perplexity.ai in the page-load event. The question is not included.

4. Search providers

Web search opens Google. The query is placed in the Google search address. Google receives that query under the Google Privacy Policy.

AI Search is provided by Perplexity. When you submit a question, SuperBrowser opens perplexity.ai over HTTPS and sends the question in the search URL. Perplexity may receive the question, your IP address, browser or user-agent information, and cookies set while you use its website in order to provide the search service.

SuperBrowser does not add this AI search or the pages opened during that search to its local browsing history. Perplexity’s processing, retention, and your rights relating to that processing are governed by the Perplexity Privacy Policy.

Websites you open receive the normal browser request for that page, including your IP address and the user agent. The browser allows first-party cookies. On Android it does not accept third-party cookies; on iPhone the system web view blocks third-party cookies by default. The app can open a page over HTTP; a page loaded over HTTP is not encrypted by the app.

5. Optional email account

Sign-in is optional. The first successful email verification creates an account. The app sends the email address and the verification code to the SuperBrowser API. The account service stores the email address, account identifier, created time, last sign-in time, and sign-in count. A verification-code record stores a hash of the code and the request IP address. A code can be used for 10 minutes. A session lasts 90 days and stores a hash of the session token and the user agent sent with sign-in. Signing out revokes that session. Delete account on the Account screen removes the account, its sessions, and its verification-code records.

6. Feedback

If you submit feedback, the app sends the title and message you entered, the contact detail if you entered one, and your account identifier if you are signed in.

7. Permissions and third-party software

The app requests the camera when you open the QR scanner. The scan is read on the device. Network access is required to browse.

SuperSDK provides the container, remote configuration, feedback, and analytics reporting. On Android, a QR scanning library runs when you open the scanner; on iPhone, scanning uses the system camera framework. On Android, Google AdMob starts with SuperBrowser. Google may receive an advertising identifier and device information under the Google Privacy Policy. The iPhone app contains no advertising SDK and does not access the advertising identifier.

8. How long information is kept

Local history, bookmarks, the private password, and teen mode remain on the device until you delete them or uninstall the app.

A sign-in session stops working after 90 days, or sooner if you sign out. Delete account removes the account, its sessions, and its verification-code records.

9. Deletion and other choices

On the device you can delete browsing history and private bookmarks, turn off the private password, exit teen mode, clear the cache, and sign out. Clear cache removes the web cache, site-icon cache, and recommendation cache, and keeps your account, history, saved sites, and website sign-ins.

On the Account screen, Delete account removes the account, its sessions, and its verification-code records. You can also email support@okok.ai to request deletion of server data, including usage analytics and feedback.

10. Changes

We will update this page before a change to these practices takes effect. The date on this page is the date of this text.
